The Michigan tracks are amongst the most popular with players of Dirt 3. Quite commonly you would find that the on-line Jam Sessions containing the most competitive players would always have a heavy line up of Michigan tracks. Sometimes a playlist would ONLY contain Michigan tracks. I think it is obvious why..... these tracks are damn exciting!!
|Dirt 3 Michigan Madness|
The constant switching between asphalt and dirt road surfaces means that you can build up some pretty damn high speeds (on the asphalt portions) only to run straight into a narrowed winding twisting dirt track. Your heart pounds and your life flashes in front of your very eyes as you go from speeding at 100 mph to a sudden heavy use of brakes while navigating some multiple tricky tight corners and avoiding dangerously high mud banks. These narrowed dirt sections are a constant interruption to your momentum. The word is "intense" and these tracks will certainly push your car to the limit! Brakes and engine.
A tickle at the back of your neck is caused and maintained by anything from whizzing around the asphalt corners on full throttle to hearing the "ticks" as the stones hit your wheel arches on the dirt sections.
If you are stuck behind a fellow racer on the dirt portion then it's game over in terms of visibility. If you are caught on the asphalt in the rain then the heavenly feeling is quickly replaced with dread and fear as the road surface turns into a slippery ice rink.
All in all, the Michigan maps are well rounded and intense. If any map can damage your racing wheel, Michigan can.
